Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Workunlock Limited ("Workunlock", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and shares your information when you use our website and services. This page reflects the product flows currently implemented across Workunlock web and backend systems.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information you provide

  • Account details such as first name, last name, email address, and password (for email/password sign-up).
  • Profile details such as country, phone number, secondary phone number, LinkedIn URL, and profile image.
  • Professional profile/post data such as position, category, subcategory, experience, keywords, hourly rate, resume link, and optional video details.
  • Verification and security data such as email verification tokens, password reset tokens, and CAPTCHA tokens.
  • Transaction-related inputs in payment flows, including references and payout details (such as bank name, bank code, account number, and account name) where applicable.
  • Hiring facilitation records, including request timestamps, hire confirmations, replacement requests, and refund eligibility notes.

b) Information from third parties

  • OAuth identity data from LinkedIn, Google, or Facebook when you use social login (for example: name, email, and profile image, if provided by the provider).
  • Payment and bank validation responses from Paystack in payment and payout helper flows.

c) Technical and usage information

  • Authentication/session data stored in browser storage and session cookies to keep you signed in.
  • Product analytics and interaction events (for example, page views and post interaction counters) through configured analytics tools.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate sign-ins.
  • Create, display, search, and administer professional profiles/posts.
  • Send service communications such as verification emails, password reset emails, and profile-related updates.
  • Enforce security, fraud prevention, and abuse protection (including CAPTCHA verification).
  • Support payment/payout-related operations and transaction tracking.
  • Apply our pricing and refund decisions, including verification of success-fee charges, 14-day replacement requests, and applicable refunds where replacement is not successful.
  • Monitor product usage and improve platform reliability and experience.

3. Pricing and Refund-Related Processing

Workunlock's current business model for employers is based on a success-fee workflow: browsing candidate information is free, and we process payment data when facilitation leads to a hire. Where a replacement or refund review is requested, we process relevant service records to determine whether the request falls within our applicable policy window.

4. How We Share Information

We share information only where needed to operate the service, including:

  • Service providers and infrastructure partners, such as email/SMTP, Cloudflare Turnstile, Firebase, and Paystack.
  • OAuth identity providers (LinkedIn, Google, Facebook) when you choose social login.
  • Other users and visitors for information you choose to publish in your profile/post. Public-facing post responses are designed to hide direct contact fields like owner email and phone.
  • Internal administrators for moderation, support, security, and platform operations.
  • Law enforcement, regulators, or legal advisors when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and platform integrity.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by data type and purpose.

6. Your Choices

  • You can update profile/account information from your account pages.
  • You can reset your password through the password reset flow.
  • You can request account deletion through available account controls or by contacting us.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

Workunlock is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made.
